Services
Drilling & Grouting Services has a unique reputation for problem-solving resulting from its extensive involvement with many high profile civil and offshore construction, underground and above ground mining, and water resource developments throughout Australia and the South-East Asian region.
Design and Construction
A fully-equipped workshop and depot in Perth, Western Australia provides in-house design and fabrication facilities for the construction of specialised drill rigs and grouting systems that may be tailored to the particular needs of client operations. These have included the design and manufacture of milling tools to enable the removal of a collapsed section of pile and the assembly and commissioning of a Wirth Pile Top Drill rig at Hyundai Heavy Industries Bombay High Field, in India. The workshop also provides essential repair and maintenance resources.
Operations Personnel
A team of senior consultants supports operations staff with the technical expertise required to ensure all projects are completed successfully on time and on budget. Operations personnel have extensive training in their particular fields with all well drillers holding Class Two or Class Three Driller's licenses and most having completed an Environmental Training Course Certificate and first aid or senior first aid certificates.
Underground Mine Development
The company's broad spread of equipment has been widely utilised to install service, mine dewatering and diamond drill pre-collar holes to achieve substantial cost savings minerals exploration. In line with its reputation for technical innovation, DGS has recently completed the design and construction of a large capacity purpose-built rig, with 25T pullback and 8,000 ft/lb torque, for Newcrest Mining at Telfer.
Extensive experience in the use of chemical and cementacious grouts for the sealing of mine water inflows complements the company's underground drilling expertise. In addition, DGS designs and implements drill programmes, prior to the construction of mine shafts and ventilation rises, in order to stabilise soil formations and significantly reduce or eliminate water inflow to the shaft.
